Feeling Like You’re Stranded on a Desert Island this 4th of July?

July 4, 2020

This 4th of July, you might even feel like you have been stranded on a desert island, and you’re looking out over the horizon for a ship to take you home, and losing hope of being rescued. It’s kind of a funny image, but then again, it’s not so funny.

We’re all disappointed that there will be no parades, no large community pancake breakfasts, no outdoor fairs and no fireworks shows. We were all hoping that by summer the pandemic would all be over, and we could joyously celebrate our country’s birthday. But instead, this holiday weekend is accentuating how many good times we’ve been missing this summer.

After months and months of social distancing, you’re probably somewhat adjusted to what’s happening. Yet, with this second wave, maybe you’re also feeling some degree of hopelessness about things getting back to the way things used to be.

And since the pandemic has been going for long enough now, you have probably wondered not only ‘WHEN’ it will end, but ‘IF’ it will end. If we are going to be going through this for a while longer, then we have to find a way to be happy even though external events aren’t going the way we want.

What do you do when external events keep blocking your path to finding happiness in life?

How can you let these challenging times bring out the best in you instead of the worst?

How do you choose the high road?

You choose the Uncommon Path to Happiness and Inner Peace!

There is a common path to happiness, and an uncommon path to happiness. You’re familiar with the common path; the idea here is to get happiness from the events that happen in your life. But sometimes there just doesn’t seem to be a way to be happy about the events in your life.

Then it’s time to explore the uncommon path. The uncommon path begins with a challenge. Can you find happiness, even if the external events in your life are not going the way you want?

Why would you even want to try to do this? Because sometimes life gets hard enough that the common path to finding happiness is just not an option, at least for a while.

Another reason to give the uncommon path to happiness a try is that you have begun to realize that the happiness you get from external events is fleeting and it comes and goes. You’re tired of working tirelessly for just a flash of happiness. You’re wondering if there is a way to find joy within your own heart, so you can live from a more sustainable place of inner fulfillment.

Most of us don’t have a clue how to do this, and it seems downright impossible.

But it actually is possible to connect to a source of fulfillment within your own heart. It’s easier than you might think.

The good news is that there is a way to find happiness and joy within, and it’s not dependent of external circumstances. There is a way to increase the magnifying power of your awareness, so that you can look upon feelings of hopelessness, or loneliness with precision and see that these feelings are not as difficult to deal with as you thought they would be. Then, the most amazing thing happens. The feelings open to reveal an exquisite spaciousness. It’s thrilling to realize that this spaciousness is actually an unending source of inner happiness and even joy. It doesn’t have to take years or decades for this to happen – it can happen in an instant!

Do you want to keep falling into hopelessness or do you want to learn how to let challenging times bring out the best in you?

At Hart Wisdom, we provide spiritual mentoring groups and private sessions to show you how to discover the uncommon path to sustained inner peace and joy. Please check out our website by exploring the menu options at the top of the page. We are looking forward to meeting you soon.
